Foobar is for us, the students of Kengeri Campus to showcase our talents in our technical fields as well as other parallels. Although open to all department students on the Kengeri Campus, it will serve as a platform for the students to come together and explore horizons.
The name foobar is derived from two very widely used metasyntactic variables in programming paradigms across platforms, languages and countries for naming entities such as variables, functions, classes etc. and computer-related documentation. Its most widespread use is in the Linux world of programming
in places where emphasis is given to explaining the concept and obscuring
all other
relations.
The intention of foo and bar are to ensure that by removing any meaningful placeholder names, we can ensure that the beholder is given only the concept and nothing else. This is exactly what we wish the fest to do, to break all barriers and only serve the purpose. 7.0 denotes the version of foobar and although there will be recurrences of 0 as the second digit, it is intentionally placed as all products in the industry require a succeeding version number.
